Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is the latest adoration of Call of Duty, with some of the best weapons in any first-person shooter. The number of guns to play with in this franchise is unparalleled, and you can play around with many weapons which exist in real life.
The M16 is one such weapon that is a favorite of many standing armies worldwide. The same favoritism applies in-game, and many players choose this weapon due to its unparalleled stability and effectiveness in close and mid-counter combat.
However, the M16 is not an end-all and be-all weapon, and there is room for improvement. I bring you the Best M16 Loadout in Modern Warfare 2 so that you can dominate your enemies and pick them out.
I will also discuss some perks and equipment that go nicely with this weapon, and at the end, I will discuss how you can unlock the M16 to be available to you in multiplayer.
Best M16 Loadout Modern Warfare 2
Here is the best M16 Loadout in Modern Warfare 2.
Receiver | M16 |
Muzzle | FTAC Castle Comp |
Rear Grip | Sakin ZX Grip |
Stock | Corio Precio Factory |
Optic | Cronen Mini Red Dot |
Ammunitio | 5.56 Overpressured +P |
The M16 is an excellent weapon in Modern Warfare 2, and I have had a lot of fun with it, even without any attachments. However, there is a lot of room for improvement with this gun, primarily due to the high recoil on this gun.
To smooth out the recoil on this gun, I have chosen the FTAC Castle Comp as my muzzle of choice, as it decreases the vertical recoil of the weapon and improves the handling and stability.
To improve the aim stability and further reduce the recoil of the M16 at stock, I have chosen the Sakin ZX as the rear grip. This attachment allows you to keep the weapon in a stable position while aiming in an accurate fashion.
To reduce the recoil even more, I have chosen the Corio Precio Factory as the stock of the M16. This attachment turns the M16 into an accurate weapon with negligible recoil and no downsides.
To further increase your chances of dominating your enemies at mid-range combat, I have chosen the Cronen Mini Red Dot as my optic. This red dot accurately identifies where you will hit your enemy and pick them off at a moment’s notice.
Finally, I loaded my M16 with the 5.56 Overpressured +P ammo to get the most out of the weapon. This ammunition will dispatch your enemies without you needing to waste many bullets on them. A few shots and your adversaries are going to be done.
Best M16 Loadout: Perks And Equipment
The M16 is a fine weapon, and the Loadout I suggested in the last heading to completely iron out any issues you have had with it and turn it into an accurate beast.
However, you need to choose your perks and equipment wisely as they are just as important as your primary weapon to become that lobby-dominating beast you were meant to be, so let us now get into it.
Secondary Weapon | P890 |
Base Perk 1 | Battle Hardened |
Base Perk 2 | Strong Arm |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands |
Ultimate Perk | High Alert |
Tactical | Spotter Scope |
Lethal | Throwing Knife |
Field Upgrade | Battle Rage |
The M16 is built for mid-range combat; however, there may be times when you might find yourself up close and personal with the action.
That is why I have chosen the P890 as my weapon of choice as a secondary weapon. This is a .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun that can help you pick off your enemies effectively, especially at close ranges.
As the Base Perk 1, I have chosen Battle hardened as my choice as this goes very well with a gun like the M16 due to its application as a mid-range combat weapon.
Relevant context:
This perk will decrease the effect of any Grenades and EMP that may be launched toward you so that you can surprise your enemies by dispatching them.
Strong Arm is my perk of choice for the Base Perk 2, as this will allow you to throw various throwables like grenades farther than you could by default. This perk also suits the M16 nicely.
I have chosen Fast Hands as my Bonus perk to help you stay in action and not die due to the time you need to spend reloading your gun. This perk allows you to swap your weapons and reload faster to not waste more time than you should with it.
The Ultimate perk I have chosen for the M16 is High Alert. The M16 is a mid-counter combat weapon which means that you will always maintain some distance between you and your enemies.
These enemies may spot you without them being in your field of view. Once this happens, a high alert perk informs you of it by pulsating your vision so you can get ready to face them.
For the Tactical equipment, I have chosen Spotter Scope, which allows you to detect your enemies from a distance and mark them so that you can dispatch them more easily.
The throwing knives are an excellent last resort choice, which is why I have chosen them as the Lethal equipment. Finally, Battle rage is my pick for the Field Upgrade, which allows you to regenerate your health and gives you an adrenaline rush.
How To Unlock M16 In Modern Warfare 2
You will need to play this game for some time before you can get your hands on the M16. Here is how you are going to go about it.
First, you will use the M16 as your primary weapon and level it up to level 18. Once this is achieved, you are going to unlock the 556 Icarus.
After unlocking the 556 Icarus, you will equip it as your primary weapon until it reaches level 14. Once achieved, the M16 will be available to you in multiplayer.
However, if you want to try out this weapon before trying to unlock it, you can use it in a private match where it is unlocked from the get-go.
Final Verdict:
The M16 is an excellent weapon in Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, even in stock. However, the perfect Loadout will make it a force to be reckoned with.
The Loadout I have given you in this article is after a lot of experimentation, and I am sure that if you try it, you will have a lot of fun dominating the multiplayer with it.
