You can upgrade and craft many things in Slime Rancher 2. However, doing these upgrades is not so straightforward. You will need to venture out into the world and find the resources you will need so that these upgrades can be done.
One of these resources is Silky Sands which can be somewhat tricky to find, and there are only specific places throughout the map where they can be found. So to make this easy for you, here is how to get Silky Sand in Slime Rancher 2.
But before you start your journey to procure some Silky Sand, you should remember that you have the resource harvester. I will tell you how you can get it in the successive paragraph if you do not have it.
How To Get Silky Sand In Slime Rancher 2
Now, before you begin your journey to find Silky Sands in Slime Rancher 2, you will first make sure that you have the resource harvester with you. Without this upgrade, you will be unable to get Silky sands even if you find its location.
To get the resource harvester, you will first need to get 450 newbucks. Getting these can be easy. All you need to do is sell plorts in the plort market or open treasure pods throughout the world in Slime Rancher 2.
Once you have the required newbucks in hand, move on to finding the next resource, the 10 Cotton Plorts.
To get cotton plorts, you will need to visit cotton slimes which are frolicking around the conservatory. To get cotton plorts from them, feed them things like carrots and lettuce.
Doing this a few times will give you the cotton plorts you will need to create the resource harvester. Any extra plorts you collect can be sold to get newbucks.
Once you have everything you need, go back to base, and on the left of the plort market, you will see stairs leading underground to the laboratory.
You will find the resource refinery and the upgrade fabricator in the lab. Shoot the cotton plorts into the refinery and go towards the fabricator. Select the Resource harvester and get it so you can start your journey to get yourself some silky sand.
Now that you have the resource harvester, let us find some silky sand. Silky Sand is usually found near where there are bodies of water.
It looks more like a geyser of mud coming out. So if you go anywhere near a seashore, there are bound to be some geysers.
If you are early in the game, one of the best places to find Silky Sand is in Ember valley. To get to Ember Valley, you need to find the Pink slime Gordo which can be found in the Northwest of Ember Valley.
Feed the Pink Gordo some veggies or water lettuce which will result in it popping. Once you have popped it, you can now access the ledge above it, where you can find the button to the Ember Valley portal. Press that button to open the portal to Ember Valley and step into it.
Now that you are in Ember Valley, go to the beach, where you can see the geyser. Once you see it, use your resource harvester to collect the Silky Sand.

There is also another area where you can find Silky Sand. This area is called Starlight Strand. You will unlock this area a little late in Slime Rancher 2, which is why it is better to stick to Ember Valley when you are early in the game.
Once you have Silky Sand with you, you can craft many upgrades, one of them being the extra tank upgrade which is very important, especially in the late-game phase.
