Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has an impressive range of weapons available for players to play around with and have fun with. I have tried my fair share of guns and enjoyed testing them in various situations.
I have spent hundreds of hours trying out most weapons in the game and have perfected the loadouts for many weapons.
My latest experiment was with the TAQ-V, a nice mid-range battle rifle. This weapon has a lot of stopping power and has the potential to dominate lobbies in multiplayer with the right Loadout.
So, to make the TAQ-V one of the best weapons in your arsenal, I will give you my recommendations on the Best TAQ-V Loadout in Modern Warfare 2.
You can try it out before proceeding to unlock the complete loadout in a private match against bots.
Best TAQ-V Loadout Modern Warfare 2
Here is the best TAQ-V Loadout in Modern Warfare 2.
Receiver | TAQ-V |
Barrel | 18″ Precision-6 Barrel |
Underbarrel | XTEN Drop Grip |
Rear Grip | Demo Cleanshot Grip |
Optic | Cronen Mini Red Dot |
Magazine | 30 Round Mag |
The TAQ-V is a great battle rifle; however, to get the most out of it, the first thing I have changed here is the barrel, which is replaced with the 18″ Precision-6 Barrel.
This attachment buffs the bullet velocity, increasing the gun’s range. This makes this weapon a force to be reckoned with, especially in close-quarter combat.
The barrel I added has a slight downside, introducing some gun recoil. To even this out, I have chosen the Xten Drop Grip, which is great at improving the weapon’s stability and decreasing the gun’s recoil. Furthermore, it also helps with aiming, allowing you to dispatch your enemies easily.
For the rear grip, I have gone with the Demo Cleanshot grip, which increases the weapon’s sprint speed, which is vital at close and mid-quarter combat. This also mitigates some downsides in recoil, which were introduced due to the barrel.
The Cronen Mini Red Dot is my pick for the optic I have recommended in Loadouts for many other weapons. My bias toward this optic comes from the fact that it gives you a clear shot and has a clean viewfinder, allowing you to target your enemies easily.
Finally, I have loaded this gun with a 30 Round Mag which, despite its issues, is a good option if you find yourself in close-quarter combat.
Reloading at the wrong time can mean your enemy getting the drop on you, which is why a large magazine is good to have in the TAQ-V battle rifle.
Best TAQ-V Loadout: Perks And Equipment
Now that I have got the Loadout out of the way, I would like to give you my recommendations on the Perks and Equipment that you should use with this weapon.
Yes, your primary weapon is essential, but with the right perks suiting the guns, you should be well on your way to dominating your adversaries.
Secondary Weapon | Expedite 12 |
Base Perk 1 | Tracker |
Base Perk 2 | Battle Hardened |
Bonus Perk | Fast Hands |
Ultimate Perk | Quick Fix |
Tactical | Stun Grenade |
Lethal | Throwing Knife |
Field Upgrade | Deployable Cover |
The TAQ-V is an excellent weapon to be considered your primary; however, a good secondary weapon should be with you, especially when the going gets tough.
That is why I have chosen the Expedite 12, which suits the TAQ-V at close quarters. This very powerful shotgun is meant to kill with one shot and does not have a lot of range; however, if your enemy is close enough, one shot is more than enough to send them back to the spawn point.
Moving on to the perks, I have chosen Tracker as the Base Perk 1 for the TAQ-V as it suits it very well. This perk will allow you to see the footprints of your enemies so that you can get the drop on them and dispatch them.
Furthermore, their death markers will also be visible to you, while your death markers will not be shown to them.
As the base perk 2, I have decided to go with Battle Hardened. This perk is impressive at close quarters as this makes you somewhat immune and reduces the effect of throwable grenades.
Fast Hands is my pick for the bonus perk, as this allows you to reload and swap weapons much faster, which is a boon when you fight at close ranges.
My contender for the Ultimate Perk is Quick Fix, which like the name suggests, fixes you up by regaining your health as you dispatch your enemies. Completing objectives will also result in your health regenerating.
Stun Grenade is my pick for Tactical Equipment. Once you throw one of these bad boys toward your enemies, they will be stunned, and their movement will slow down significantly.
My pick for the lethal equipment is the Throwing Knife which is deadly at close range. Once you have used a knife to dispatch an enemy, you can return and retrieve it from their marker.
Finally, as the Field Upgrade, I have chosen Deployable Cover, an excellent upgrade at close quarters.

How to Unlock TAQ-V In Modern Warfare 2
You may need to play the game for some time before you can unlock the TAQ-V. First off, you will reach level 19, which will result in the unlock of the TAQ-56.
Once this weapon has been unlocked (TAQ-56), use it until it reaches level 11. Once this has been achieved, you are going to receive the TAQ-V.
However, if you want to play around with it before deciding that you are going to unlock it, fire up a private match where all weapons and their attachments are unlocked from the get-go.
Final Verdict:
The TAQ-V is a good battle rifle, and I have had a lot of fun trying out many Loadout to be used with this gun. If you are a player that wants to get right into the action at close quarters, then this is an excellent weapon to consider.
I have tried my best with my recommendations to perfect this weapon. You should try out my Loadout, and I am sure you will be well on your way to dominating lobbies in multiplayer.
