I have been having a lot of fun with the early access build of Slime Rancher 2 and have created my share of strange abominations. There are many resources you can use to do so; however, one of the rarest materials in Slime Ranger 2 is the Stange diamonds, which have many You can either upgrade your gear using them or sell them for a considerable profit.
However, the strange diamond is a definite requirement if you are reaching the end of the game and want to upgrade some of your gear. Even though this is a scarce material, you should know that it only has a specific location where it spawns.
You will be hard-pressed to go anywhere else. The problem arises only as it does not have a specified spawn rate, making it so that you may go for many days without the strange diamonds spawning, while sometimes you may find them several times in a few minutes. So to make this search more manageable for you, I will tell you How to get Strange Diamonds in Slime Rancher 2.
How To Get Strange Diamonds In Slime Rancher 2
As I mentioned earlier, the strange diamonds do not have a definite spawn rate but have several solid locations. Usually, they are located either in the vicinity or inside tunnels and caves throughout the map.
You can explore the locations in Ember Valley or Starlight Strands raiding these places, and you may find a strange diamond. However, there are chances you may stumble upon a strange diamond whilst near the entrances of these locations.
But it is not today that these are the only locations strange diamonds can be found, and players have also reported finding this rare resource in the mountains. So do not think it is impossible to stumble upon a strange diamond while you are going on and about your day in the game.
There is one location in Slime Rancher 2 where you will get a strange diamond regardless of the in-game time and spawn rate. However, this diamond can be acquired only once per play, so do not waste your time lurking around the cave thinking you will respawn it.
To get this diamond, you will go to a cave in the Ember Valley which Boom Gordo has blocked. You will need to pop this Gordo to get inside the cave.
To do this, you are going to feed 50 hen hens. If you do not have hens, you can also feed it 50 roostros. If you own Briar hens, 25 of these provided to the Gordo will also be able to pop it.
Once you have popped boom Gordo, you will find an entrance to a small cave where you will find two treasure pods.
One of these pods will have the coveted strange diamond while the other will contain a blueprint. Once you have found the diamond, you do not need to lurk around anymore or restart your game to respawn it, as treasure pods can only be looted once.
Apart from this location, you can also explore other caves around ember valley or starlight strands, where you are bound to get strange diamonds. It would be best to look for caves blocked by Gordos, which have a higher chance of netting you a strange diamond.
Once you acquire these diamonds, you can either sell them for a good amount of newbucks or craft the late-game upgrades you will want to finish your playthrough.
