Multiplayer gaming is another world that exists only virtually, but that doesn’t stop it from growing day by day. Human nature is competitive, and we are all looking forward to being the king of the hill at the end of the day.
And this is exactly the spirit that drives competitive multiplayer gaming, namely the FPS genre. Which is by far the sweatiest and hardcore multiplayer genre I have seen, maybe it’s also the most played too.
Titanfall 2 belongs to the same multiplayer world of FPS shooters, and it is one of the best ones I have played in a long time. Multiplayer mode was ten times the fun, and I am bad at it.
Titanfall 2 is developed by Respawn Entertainment, and it was released back in 2016 on PC, Xbox, and PS4. Giving a sci-fi twist to multiplayer FPS shooters, Titanfall 2 features high octane fast-paced multiplayer matches against other players. The setting is futuristic, and by futuristic, I mean it has robots in it.
Your player starts as a soldier along with your fireteam, and everything goes as it as you can expect from a multiplayer (you can use grappling hooks, too) until your Titan is ready for you to summon into the battle. Once your Titan arrives, you hop into it and unleash heavy artillery over innocent players.
As the match progresses, everyone gets their Titan and what started as a skirmish between soldiers turns into a deadly mecha fight which is super awesome. It is unique and highly complements its single-player campaign, which is epic too.
Nothing is different, except it’s a multiplayer mode that is playable with friends too. But there is a possibility that not all your friends are on the same gaming devices. They could be on a different platform, so in that case, Does Titanfall 2 support crossplay?
Let’s start digging into this further
Is Titanfall 2 Cross Platform In 2024?
Titanfall 2 is amazing, and its free-running movement, while you grapple your way through the map, is super fun, but sadly, crossplay is not an option here. Crossplay or cross platform play is a feature of multiplayer gaming that simply allows users to participate and join other platform lobbies.
If you have a PS4 and you are looking forward to PC players, there is no one stopping you from joining them, given that crossplay is enabled. But here, it is missing, and it shows. Such an amazing concept for multiplayer, but you are missing out on all fun with your friends.
Crossplay is becoming a standard these days as more and more studios are implementing it in their upcoming title. Multiplayer gaming is becoming increasingly popular, and so is the demand for crossplay.
Its benefits are undeniable, and for an average gamer, it can make the gaming experience convenient and user-friendly.
One of the major selling points of crossplay is that it helps lower the queueing time. The more time you spend on finding a match, the more you’re uninterested and less motivated you will be.
Why not find a match in seconds while you are full of fire, ready to bust some skulls? The Pros don’t stop there, it comes down to the brand image and developer reputation too.
Multiplayer gamers tend to play the same game for years because of the dynamic nature of multiplayer matches, so crossplay can help create brand loyalty and trust between developers and consumers. It is healthy for a game, and its benefits reap over a long time.
For some players, no crossplay could be heavenly, namely console players who disliked mixed lobbies. As you know, PC and Consoles work differently, and in most FPS shooters, the PC offers better skill and movement. Console players could be easily dominated in a lobby full of PC sweats.
This is one of the major cons of crossplay and could ruin anyone’s day. The good news is that developers recently announced that they are working toward introducing cross-play, so you can expect some good updates shortly. The exact release date is unknown, but it shouldn’t take too long.

Final Verdict:
As I am going towards a conclusion, I should share my last thoughts. Cross-play is indeed an amazing feature to have in a multiplayer title. However, What makes multiplayer games so endearing and playable is the gameplay.
Sure, you will miss out on having fun with your friends, they will be left out of all the fun you could have in this game, but it is what it is.
There is nothing you can do right now. What I am trying to say is that cross-play is a huge part of any multiplayer title, but if it doesn’t exist in a game like Titanfall 2. it is not going to ruin the gameplay for you.
This is the beauty and purpose of multiplayer gaming. And Respawn Entertainment announced that they are working on a crossplay update ready to be released soon, so all you have to do right now is just sit back, relax and enjoy the gameplay.
You can also play the amazing single-player campaign. Just get some tissues ready. It can be a tearjerker for some folks.
