It’s the gunplay, a simple and short answer. Amazing, fast-paced, tactical gunplay that gets your heart pumping. Today we are gonna talk about one of the special weapons in this game, The TAQ-M Semi Automatic Marksman Rifle.
It’s a great dueling weapon, and despite being a marksman rifle, you can play aggressively if you invest some time into building a perfect loadout.

TAQ-M is a hard-hitting DMR with 7.62x51mm bullets and has an excellent range (which is not surprising considering it’s a DMR). With the introduction of the Weapons platform in Modern Warfare 2. it is now easier to unlock this DMR.
But the grind is still heavily present. You cannot access this gun unless you reach rank 11, and even then, you need to upgrade weapons in the platform to acquire a TAQ-M receiver.
Now, this Platform is named Tactique Verte, and it includes 3 weapons, including the TAQ-M Marksman Rifle.

Perks should always compliment your playstyle accordingly, and for a weapon type like this, I would suggest you go for the Overkill base perk.
Overkill allows the player to equip two types of primary weapons at the same time. Pairing TAQ-M with an SMG could be a deadly combo, I am just saying.
The second base perk you can go for is Battle Hardened, which basically makes you more durable to throwable types of equipment such as flashbang, EMPs, grenades, and whatnot.
Now comes the bonus perk slot, perks in this slot require activation to trigger. For this slot, Hardline is a great choice as it eases the requirement for a kill streak and gets you going on the onslaught. You need one less kill to start your kill streak.
And my personal favorite ultimate perk is Ghost. It’s pretty self-explanatory and straightforward. Ghost perk removes the player from enemy radar.
You are basically undetected by any UAVs or players’ heartbeat sensors. You deny your enemy any info regarding your whereabouts and movement.
It’s a great perk for stealthy and close-range combat, and as I said, you can always equip an SMG or a shotgun in the second slot. Works like a charm.
For the equipment section, you would want something lethal or annoying for your enemies. Something that gives you a slight advantage, even if it’s for a second.
You can go the good old-school route with a flashbang and a grenade. Flashbang will give you an upper hand in a firefight, or you can use it as a last resort to escape. A Grenade is just a grenade, it explodes and kills people. An extra kill in your pocket.

How To Unlock TAQ-M In Modern Warfare 2
Modern Warfare 2 introduced weapon platforms and receivers along with the revamped Gunsmith model to reduce the grind and encourage players to spend their time experimenting with different builds.
Weapon platforms include a group of a weapon by the same manufacturers, so you can access every weapon in that particular platform without grinding for each one of them.
TAQ-M belongs to the Tactique Verte platform, which unlocks at level 19. Upon reaching level 19, you gain access to TAQ 56 assault rifle.
TAQ 56 needs to be level 20, after which you can receive the receiver for TAQ-M. It’s simple as that. But very grindy
