PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, aka PUBG, is one of the most-playing battle royale games since its launch and need no introduction.
Even though the game has some technical imperfections at the start but that doesn’t prevent the flow of the game in the gaming industry, particularly in battle royale games.
This battle royale game has captured so much love from players around the globe and is on everyone’s mind since 2017. Still today, the popularity of the game is at its elevation, and it maintains the same quality and gameplay environment as it was in the start.
So, that’s all about the game now, let’s talk about why you are here. As you know that the game is available on certain platforms with different playing mechanics players really want to widen their playing options so that their lobbies can fill up faster than ever.
And further, expand the gameplay while enabling the crossplay and squad up with the best buddies. It’s time to share your first chicken dinner with your friends playing on different family consoles.
Is PUBG Crossplay Or Cross Platform?
Yes, PUBG is partially crossplay, and players can play via crossplay enabled. Unfortunately, the only flaw PUBG has right now is that it’s not available to play via crossplay on PC.
So, PC players cannot play with the console players. It’s like the developers don’t want to help the PC gamers take advantage of the keyboard and mouse over the console players.
Also, the aim assist is only present in the PUBG mobile, and it’s currently not available on PCs.
Now let’s come to the main part and discuss where PUBG is partially available to play. PUBG can be played via crossplay enabled for players playing from PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
This means players from PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S will all can play together across the platforms.
Players playing can be identified with a controller icon next to their IGN in the kill feed, and players from the different consoles can also be recognized in the custom lobbies and the social hub by a controller icon and a small colored dot.
For example, PlayStation players can be seen with the color Blue while Xbox players can be easily identifiable with the Green color next to their IGN. So inadequate luck for the PC players as they can’t play with their friends on the consoles.

Does PUBG Have Cross-platform On Mobile?
Yes, PUBG on mobile is crossplay, but it’s the same as it’s for the console versions. Players can play with each other on different mobile OS, and there is no other way mobile players can play with the console player or the PC players.
You can play with your friends who are playing from iOS or Android, but the console and mobile versions do not play with each other.
Similarly, the mobile version of the game, the console version, and the PC version all three versions have different individual servers, which restricts all the players to play with each other.
You may have noticed that I haven’t discussed Google Stadia yet it’s because on September 29, 2022, Google announced that it would shut down Stadia, and the shutdown happened on January 18, 2023.
How To Enable Cross-platform On PUBG?
In this section, I am going to discuss how you can enable crossplay so you guys can play with your friends.
It is worth noticing that in the developers post, it is mentioned that if you turned off the crossplay option and spend a longer amount of time in the lobbies looking for the matchmaking without results there, you will get a prompt message to turn the crossplay on again.
So, if you turned off the crossplay, it’s not a big deal.
Let’s see how to enable the crossplay in PUBG:
- Load up the PUBG into your screen.
- Now click on the “PUBG pro settings” option and search for the Gameplay tab.
- From the Gameplay tab, click on Cross-Platform Play to enable the crossplay in PUBG.
- Now all the players can play together.
- To find your friends so you can invite them to your custom lobbies or in the matchmaking, you need to head to the Social tab and press the button to invite or search for friends.
- You can also use the Team Finder to link up with your friends before starting the match as well.
Final Words:
Although PUBG had some shortcomings in the hitboxes and technical complications at the start despite everything, the game never stopped progressing and become one of the fastest-trending games all over the globe.
With PlayStation and Xbox cross-platform merge, it’s now more convenient for players to play with their friends. For PC players, it’s bad, but still, they can play with their buddies as well, while mobile users can enjoy their own version of the PUBG mobile as well.
