How To Throw Grenades On Pc Versions of Fallout 4?
Here is how you throw a grenade in Fallout 4 on the PC. The very first thing that you are required to do is equip your grenade by using the Pip-boy.
Without doing this, the grenade will not show up, and you will not be able to throw it despite it being in your inventory.
Also, note that you will only be able to equip one grenade or one type of grenade at a time. To switch to another grenade, open up your pip boy and equip that type of grenade.
Now that you have equipped your grenade, you will find it in your melee menu. The melee button is what you will use to throw the grenade.
To throw the grenade, you will press ALT on the PC. Do not press it and leave it. Instead, you will hold it until you hear a clicking sound which will indicate the grenade is live.
Once you hear it, line it towards the target using the crosshairs and leave the melee button. This should throw the grenade towards your enemy and blow them to smithereens.
How To Throw Grenades On Console Versions of Fallout 4?
Now that I have gotten the PC version out of the way. Let us now go toward the console versions of Fallout 4. You have two versions of consoles, namely the PlayStation and the Xbox. Using the grenade is almost identical here as in the PC version.
You are first going to do the very same steps here. First, you will be equipping the grenade by using the Pip-boy.
You are going to do this the same way as it is done on the PC. You can only equip one grenade or one type of grenade on the consoles.
Once a grenade is equipped, you will use different buttons for Melee. On the PlayStation, you have the R1 as the Melee button; on the Xbox, the RB is the Melee button.

While you are traversing the vistas of the Fallout 4 open world’s vistas, you will find yourself doing many things. You will forge alliances with different factions and may find yourself at odds against the faction you have angered by forging that alliance.
These factions may ambush you, or you might attack their bases. All this means that you will constantly find yourself in combat against adversaries.
During these combats, your enemies may duck behind a cover, making them hard to target and then kill. For this reason, the grenade becomes a good weapon to use in these circumstances.
You chuck one of these bad boys towards your enemies in hiding and then find them either blown to smithereens or in the open, where you can target them easily.
How To Improve Grenade Aiming And Explosives Damage?
Learning how to throw the grenade effectively in Fallout 4 is only half the story here, and there are still a few things that you still need to keep in mind.
When fresh out of the vault, all your weapons and explosives have low damage. This can mean that even the grenades you throw at some higher-level enemies might not affect them enough to kill them.
For this reason, you need to keep upgrading this nifty little perk called Demolition Expert. There are four different ranks to this, and with every rank you progress, the more damage you are going to be able to do to your enemies.
The first rank will give you 25% more damage and the ability to craft explosives. The second rank will do 50% more damage, and you will have a throwing arc instead of the cross hairs for the grenade.
The third rank will give you 75% more damage, and the blast will impact a larger area. Finally, the fourth rank is going to give you double damage.
